flavius_m @ 10:55 am: the great universal hang-over day
Morning all. Happy unboxing day. Wait, that was yesterday..

No, I don't actually have a hang-over. Just back at TallyHo.. Christmas was good.

Is there anything happening today? I can see I could get a bit bored. There's a lot of stuff I should/could be doing, but don't fancy spending all day here.

Hope all your Christmases were good:)

pinkwitch2000 @ 09:04 am: To all those whom I know on here.
It will be a quietish period for me this year, my mother is spending her first Christmas without my father, who's birthday also fell on the 25th. Plans to spend it with her have been difficult and with her being in and out of hospital over the last month, things got changed a lot. They are still fluid now.
Anyway, If I haven't seen you or sent you a card etc. have an excellent time with your loved ones/partner/bottle of choice and hopefully see you out and about in the New Year.
Highlights of this year for me - surviving, redecorating my lounge and Leipzig.
Welcome to another decade!

Amazingly, had never watched 'V for Vendetta' until now. Putting that right as we speak.

angusabranson @ 07:12 pm: (Trailer) Kick-Ass
Another comic adaptation hits the big screen... not the pansy Marvel type though so if you don't like foul language and violence then I wouldn't click on the link to watch the trailer :p

danny_e11 @ 11:18 am: Years go by...
... but the excuse for consumeristic exploitation known as 'christmas' keeps coming back, I think I've worked out roughly every 12 months or so, strange that, eh? ;-)
Anyways, everyone's entitled to believe in whatever fairytale they like, so as per usual let me wish you:

HAPPY FAIRYTALE OF YOUR CHOICE AND A GREAT, CREATIVE AND PROSPEROUS 2010!!!

Some of you I'll see during this festive period, others on NYE or soon in 2010, as for those of you I haven't had the chance to see much - or at all - in 2009, I hope the new year will bring the opportunity to meet up soon. In any case, to ALL of you:

Have a good one, eat and drink too much (theres always January to make resolutions that will never be kept about detoxing and all that), and if you can piss off a banker, BA manager or other individual similarly worthy of contempt in the process all the better ;-)

morbidfrog @ 02:52 pm: trying to put my mind to other things but just cannot stop getting upset... very silly until we actually have a try tomorrow, i know why i do not watch news...i turn into a worrying upset mess...having just chatted to my mum did not really helped either ...i hate that buzzing hot stress feeling...i try so hard to remove any stress from my lifestyle as i know how bad i can be but today i cannot keep my eyes dry...it is so silly, then i get even more upset for being so silly.

morbidfrog @ 12:29 pm: Bree Louise, Laibach & Juno Reactor (Sunday)

Sunday was very grumpy and tired start as just was awake too early…and wanted more sleep but just wasn’t happening…I was later joined by Simon and we made our way to Bree Louise for food and beers …interesting dark rum truffle beer and some tasty dragon wind welsh cider….We then all made our way to ULU, strange to be in work vicinity on weekend.

Got in at 7pm , then at 7.30 Laibach confused us by coming on stage…they were as fab as always, very pleased they played some of the anthems and famous numbers I really like. I just found his voice so hypnotic…even when he just talked it’s intense, loved it…such a magical way to end the gig year.

Then after the break Juno reactor came on, I have to say never heard of them, had no idea what to expect…at first I was pleasantly surprised as it was very unexpected, lots going on on stage: Zulu dancers & preaching rave rapper . It reminded me to my Return to the Source and Whirl -y -gig days, love some of the elements like the tribal,  ethnic components, the fab girl voice, the mix and match of style and energy but  not the repetition and dance bits. Most of the tracks seemed to go on and on, he seemed to be preaching a lot and I just couldn’t get into it that much…we watch about an hour and decide to have an early exit .

morbidfrog @ 11:51 am: Invocation and long straigth hair :)

Saturday was very efficient, got up earlier than I wanted but ended up having lovely stroll around Camden market in the cold sunshine, picking last few unplanned presents and a much needed pair of stompy boots all furry and wintery. The afternoon was spent packing, tidying the flat, and lots of boring must do tasks. It all went smoothly and on time, I was even able to join Patricia for some mulled wine  at hers and  Christine birthday celebration at Invocation. I also played with some straight hair bit from bring and buy ..not had long straight hair in a long time... Photos )

morbidfrog @ 10:58 am: Friday: Bid Red, fire hoola hoops and Beauty of Poison

Last day at work, I cannot imagine I will do much as I am just too upset. I will try to at least remember the fun weekend.

Friday I spent lovely evening catching up with Serena, Irene and Tom…delicious home cook dinner, followed by Big Red. They had a Christmas party, it was absolutely packed, and we got a free show and free test tube shots. From sexy fire show, jigsaw fire, fire hula-hoop’s, burlesque striptease, amber serenading, and a rock n roll band…very much fun…afterward we went on to the Gaff for beauty of Poison, which was also free entry .I just love that pub the dark carved gargoyles and impressive dark wooden furniture, fireplace, red walls and very jolly atmosphere… did quite bit of dancing and ended up staying till about 3ish…. Great way to start the weekend… Photos )

morbidfrog @ 10:03 am: Worried beyond belief
I spent the weekend in ignorant bliss, involving lots of fun and clubbing, although a few mentioned some problems ,  i hadn't realised the gravity of the eurostar problem...i am really stress and worried i won't be able to go to france. This really sadden and upset me. Simon and I are supposed to get on a train tomorrow and until 6pm tonight we won't even know if there will be train and if so will have to hope like thousands of others that we will be able to get on one and catch our train connection to south of france.

I am glad i didn't catch the news all weekend so i could have lots of fun in ignorance , now i have seen them I just want to cry .

sinbadsilk @ 09:00 am: Fuck you I won't do what you tell me....
That's right, Rage Against the Machine are number 1.

So, did you do what Simon Cowell told you to do, or did you do what the alternative campaign told you to do?

;-)

It's nice to see Rage Against the Machine being so gracious about their 'Victory', which to be fair was only a victory in that people wanted to see the X Factor guy lose. Their comment that it could have been any band or song is correct. Also good to read that Shelter have been benefiting so mch from the campaign (and also a free gig by RATM in the offing at some point in the new year for all their fans).

It's going to be difficult to re-create this feat next time though. Too many people are going to try to copy the 'Rage Against the Music Moguls' idea, fragmenting the collectivity that this protest vote has had.

And No, I didn't do what they or anyone else said. I have the song already so I didn't buy it aga
