12:26 pm: Could anyone explain in very non computery, i.e. idiot proof terms if/how I can change my LJ name. The reason is that I've go a very old laptop where some of the keys don't work, namely some numbers and the hyphen/underscore. This means I have to perform some longwinded procedure involving copy and paste (just trying to explain it is boring me to death)....anyway, I was thinking that maybe if I can access LJ more easily, I just might make more use of it.

09:20 pm: always look on the bright side of life...............which consists of Diamanda Gallas on Monday, followed by Gotham next Sunday, followed by The Young Gods the Tuesday after that; and then it's almost Friday the 18th, which marks the end of my current hell: OFSTED INSPECTION at the college I work at. Still, all this working late and working weekends and not having time for important things like friends and loved ones, just so we can demonstrate, to said inspectors, how good we are at doing our job........AAAAArrrgghhhh, all this makes you appreciate the good stuff again.  Hope to see some of you around at above mentioned gigs and if not, remember: Always look on......

Day two of the LJ experience! I will not spend hours going round in circles trying to do stuff I obviously haven't got a clue about  (maybe there are beginners classes for idiots like me somewhere?). 
Anyway hi and thanks to morbidfrog for assuring me that this was a good thing and not at all scary :-/ and yes, I have to say it's fun so far. What will I do next week when I'm back at work where LJ is blocked (suppose I'll have to get on with actual work instead ;-) ).

It's Sunday and the most glorious day outside and what do I do? Try to figure out how livejournal works. Having spent the last hour or so unsuccessfully trying to upload a picture for my brand spanking new profile I am now truly defeated and deflated and once again reminded of the fact that PCs and me just don't compute.  I think I managed to make a friend but have got no idea how to get in touch with said person via this platform and who knows said person might not want me as a friend at all, it's all very confusing to a novice like me. So time to log off, kettle on and settle down in the shade for some sunday afternoon reading,  before madness takes hold.....I will master this devils machine, damn it!!! I will
